SIMONE
BACCI

born in Arezzo in 1975, he was drawn to photography during his teenage years, initially more intrigued by the medium itself than by the images it could produce. After stepping away from photography for a long period, he returned to it around the age of 30, later deciding to pursue it professionally. From there, he embarked on a path of training that eventually led him to open his own photography studio. Over the years, he has taken part in numerous workshops and masterclasses in reportage photography, some led by internationally renowned photographers such as Ivo Saglietti, Alex Majoli, and Newsha Tavakolian. When asked whether he is able to make a living from photography today, his answer is always the same: “Making a living from photography is becoming increasingly difficult, but photography undoubtedly helps me live better.” It is precisely this belief that drives him to develop personal projects entirely unrelated to commissioned work. He is so deeply drawn to the stories behind his photographs that he often feels the need to live like the people he portrays, or to immerse himself as fully as possible in their everyday lives, as he has done with this project, which he has been pursuing for several years.With NO HAY, he has received several recognitions, including being a finalist at Portfolio Italia 2024 and receiving an Honorable Mention at the Rocchelli Grant by Cesura in 2025. In march 2026 is first book, NO HAY, was published by Gente di Fotografia.
